Radzyner - A possible source of tekhelet, the original Biblical blue dye.Derived from the cuttlefish, a squidlike sea creature.
Sha'atnez - The illegal mixing of two different kinds of material as defined in Leviticus 19:19 and Deuteronomy 22:11.
Shabbat - The Sabbath. The 7th day of the week. From Friday sunset until Saturday sunset.
Shalom Aleikhem - "Peace be unto you".
Sh'ma - A prayer consisting of Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Deuteronomy 11:13-21; and Numbers 15:37-41.
Tallith - A prayer shawl upon which tzitzith (tassels) are attached at its four corners. Also - tallit, tallis. Pl.=tallitot.
Tallth Katan - "Little tallit". A small tallith with a hole for the head. Decorative and worn over or under the clothing
Talmud - The "oral Torah". The authoritative Rabbinical commentary on the Torah, written and compiled from 200-500 C.E.
Tanak - The 39 Hebrew books of the Holy Scripture. Also known as the "Old Testament".
Tekhelet - The original Biblical blue dye, or cloth made from it. Similar to indigo. The color of priestly royalty.
Torah - "Teaching". The first 5 books of the Tanak. Also known as: The Pentateuch, The Law, The 5 books of Moshe.
Tzitzith - Biblical fringes or tassels, knotted and tied to the four cornersof a garment as commanded in Numbers 15:37-42 and Deuteronomy 22:12. Pl.=tzitziot. Also known as "gedilim".
YHWH - The proper name of G-d. Known as the "tetragram", or four letters.
